Our Story

Good coffee, good people.

Eden Heights started the way most good things do in Mt Eden: over a flat white and a conversation about what the village was missing. We wanted a place where you could sit with a properly pulled espresso, eat something made from scratch that morning, and not have to rush. Somewhere between your kitchen table and a restaurant. That was 2019, and the feeling hasn't changed.

We source as much as we can from growers and producers around Auckland and the Waikato. Our bread comes from a bakery in Kingsland. Our eggs are free-range from a farm near Pukekohe. The greens on your plate were probably picked yesterday. It's not a gimmick. It's just how food tastes better.

The morning regulars are the heartbeat of this place. The couple who share the same corner booth every Saturday. The dog walkers who stop in after doing the mountain. The students who camp out with laptops and somehow make one long black last three hours. We know their orders, and they know our names. That's the kind of cafe we set out to build.

Our philosophy is straightforward: simple food done well, honest coffee, and a room that feels warm whether you're here for five minutes or two hours. No fuss, no pretension. Just good mornings, made better.

Locally Sourced

We work directly with Auckland and Waikato growers and producers. Seasonal menus, short supply chains, and ingredients that arrive fresh because they didn't travel far.

Community First

Mt Eden Village is a neighbourhood, not a postcode. We sponsor the local school fair, host weekend markets out back, and keep the door open for anyone who needs a warm seat.

Sustainability

Compostable packaging, a bring-your-cup discount, and food waste that goes to a local composting co-op. Small steps, done consistently, because the planet doesn't need more single-use lids.
